Prom...

My Prom Experience

So as a "Comeback" post I was going to do a GRWM Prom Edition, but I wasn't really feeling it, I didn't really like my make up, my hair wasn't doing what I wanted it to do and I felt uncomfortable in my dress.

All of that just didn't really make me feel optimistic about how my prom would go, I was truly considering not going and just staying home, and probably cry over missing the prom (logic?)

On a brighter note -my prom actually went really well, the food was delicious, music was on point and the company was amazing -and I kept my shoes (my favourite thing in the entire world) on for the entire night.

But let's talk about why I, and possibly other people, felt uncomfortable and just down about going to prom; I think the most obvious for myself was that I left school about half way through my last year. and was still able to go to prom, I hadn't seen a lot of my peers for such a long time and most nerve racking, my teachers and I was actually really nervous about seeing them all again and didn't really feel like I should go -stuff like that doesn't normally get to me, so I was really surprised that it did. A few false smiles for the camera, as my mum took pictures of me, that's when I knew i really wasn't looking forward to it. I was quiet and picking at my nails the entire car ride, my mum didn't understand why I wasn't excited or at least happy to be going, and to be fair to her, neither did I.

After having a few drinks at my friend Eilidh's (who looked fabulous BTW) I started to loosen up a bit, the cocktail probably help calm my nerves a little. I managed a real smile for Eilidh's mums pictures and the night was already starting to look up.

Meeting up to go to a pre prom party at one of my classmates house, (massive thank you to Lilidh -if you're reading this haha) for a few drinks and even more pictures, she even hired a photographer (PROPS!)

After the free champagne and chatting with people who weren't at the pre-party, it was time to eat!
(I didn't take any pictures of the food, because I didn't think I wasn't going to do a post on my prom at all)

Then dancing begun, the DJ said if you could make it through the cha cha slide you could get a glow stick...he never said that he had edited the song so it was about a minute longer, was completely worth it though because I got the first glow stick!

To say the least prom was an absolute success for me, and I'm really happy because I don't want to look back on my last night with people I've spent the past 6 years and say it was horrible, wish I hadn't gone etc.

Here are some of my favourite pictures from the night.

(Megan looked beautiful!)

As a tradition most of my year went to the beach after the prom, most went home to change first of course, bonfire and sand until 4am with my friends was a pretty good way to say goodbye to high school.
