New Year. New Makeup Look.

New Year. New Makeup Look.

As it is, sadly, no longer Christmas, yet we are still stuck in Winter without the perks for another two months, it's time to shake things up with a new makeup look for the new year.

I went on an Impulse Purchase spree a few days back, and that along with old favourites in my collection, I've put together a 'new' everyday makeup look -below is a 'How To/Step by Step' to getting this makeup look, enjoy.

First prep your skin by making sure it's clean -I used my new B. Pure Micellar Water- and moisturised, I used my Dream Cream by LUSH as my face was a bit red from my shower (so please excuse my after shower hair).

Now to the actual make up!

Step One: Prime

Prime your skin so your make up doesn't slip off. I used my Benefit's Stay Don't Stray on my eye lid and on my under eye area, as this is a day look I used Benefit's Porefessional on my T-Zone and that's all, if this is more a night time/party look for you then I, personally, would suggest priming your entire face.

Step Two: Base

Apply your foundation, mine is Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is the shade 51 Light Vanilla.
and cover up any uneven skin tone and problem areas with concealer, I use Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer in 51 Light Radiance.

Step Three: Eyes

I applied Honeycomb from my Sleek Au Naturel 601 Palette, all over my lid. I'm only doing one eye because I'm not going out tonight and I didn't want to waste my product, and also so you can see the contrast better. It's my right eye that I'm applying the make up to (left eye on the screen).

Apply Push Up, from my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette, to the outer corner of the lid and crease, to add dimension and depth to your eye.

After blending I added a bit more of Push Up to my outer corner so the depth wasn't lost.

On my lower lash line I applied Cocoa Puff, from my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette to my outer corner and followed the line up to a small flick on my eye lid.

Using the flick as a guide line a applied eyeliner -I used Bourjois Liner Feutre in Ultra Black, I only took this to the centre of my eye, but you could do a full line and it would look just as good.

And for my favourite part, I applied my mascara, I'm using Benefit's They're Real Mascara, I applied this to both my upper and lower lashes. Also I applied a little bit of Heaven, from my Natural Eyes Palette, to my tear duct area and brow bone.

Add some lip balm and you're good to go!

Now if this is a bit too much for an everyday look, and you're more likely to wear this to a party or a special occasion then I would continue with these products;

Step Five: Contour, Highlight and Bronze

Using my Bourjois Delice de Poudre Duo (The chocolate bronzer and highlighter set), I applied the bronzer, to the hollows of my cheek to make my face look more structured, I then lightly dusted all over my face and neck to add colour, as my face is rather pale this time of year. I then applied Benefit's Sun Beam to where my eye bone most prominently sticks out.

Step Six: Brows

Fill in your brows with either a pencil or shadow shade that matched the roots of your hair, I'm using Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade Chocolate.

Finally Step Seven: Lips

If I was to wear this look to a party I would wear a bold lip either berry or red toned. As Valentines Day is coming our way -but I don't plan on wearing a red lip on said day- I thought I would complete this look with my Bourjois Rouge Edition in number 13 Rouge Jet Set.

And that's this look complete, maybe you could wear this to your date or mate date on Valentine's Day, or to a Singles Party, whichever you have planned :)
